The sturdy green recycling truck from innovative toymakers Sprig is made of their trademarked "Stigwood" -- an eco-friendly composite of reclaimed wood and recycled plastic. Like other Sprig toys, it's not painted. Instead, it's dyed during the production process with safe pigments that have no heavy metals in them. About Sprig Eco-conscious toymaker Sprig was born when three toy designers realized what an appalling effect traditional toy manufacturing had on the environment. After observing firsthand how toys got made, they understood that the process employed by the factories had a harmful impact on nearby air, soil, water, and plants. They were also disturbed by the emerging "watch-me" trend in electronic toys that encouraged kids to be more passive in their play.
